Got news for ya ... he's been adapting and evolving the whole time ... (and I'd call Bruce a "Punk pioneer", given that Wire started in 1976 ... ) Every solo record you can find that says "Bruce Gilbert" on the cover - from "This Way" to "The Shivering Man" to "Insiding" to "Music For Fruit" - is total and complete godhead. The man is a total genius ... and he turned 48 this year (he's older than both Bowie and Eno). Yeow!
